You have just bought your new mower and are now ready for the first ignition and cut. Before starting off have a look at the simple and useful suggestions below.

1.    The instruction manual is your user guide and should be read attentively before the first use and consulted for any queries. It details all the steps to be followed before the first use, safety instructions and recommendations for engine refuelling and fuel conservation that are also explained in the engine manual. The manual will help you to become familiar with all safety, testing and control mechanisms and to prepare your machine for its intended use.

2.    When mowing always wear protective shoes with nonslip soles, long trousers and protective glasses.

3.    Remove potential obstacles such as stones, sticks or toys from the mowing area.

4.    Always survey one meter ahead so as to avoid running over objects such as those described in  point 3.

5.    Be aware of children, other adults and pets in the vicinity and keep them away from the working area.

6.    If you are working on a slope, cut the lawn widthways. If using a walk behind mower, work from top to bottom  and vice versa if using a ride on tractor.

7.    If using an electric lawn mower, pay attention to the power cable while cutting. Always ensure that the cable is not entangled. Do not use an electric mower if the surface is damp or it is raining.
